Professional Training, Memberships & Standards

When you choose a therapist, qualifications are not the whole story.

You are choosing a person, a relationship, and a space where you can feel safe enough to bring what matters. But training, ethics, insurance, supervision, professional standards and continuing development matter deeply too. They form part of the holding structure beneath the work.

My practice brings together advanced trauma training, body-centred root-cause psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, EMDR, NLP/Ericksonian approaches and integrative therapeutic work.

Behind the warmth and relational depth of my practice, there is also rigour.

There is study. There is structure. There is accountability. There is a deep respect for the vulnerability of therapeutic work, and for the trust you place in me.

Advanced InCorr® and Somatic Trauma Training

I am an Advanced Practitioner in Interoceptive Core Reconsolidation Psychotherapy — InCorr® — and Somatic Trauma Therapy, with Level 2 Specialist training.

This is the deeper root-cause part of my work: trauma-informed, phenomenological and body-centred, grounded in safe embodiment, therapeutic presence, relational depth and the careful reconsolidation of primary emotional pain.

My InCorr Level 2 assessment was passed and designated the Gold Standard of Clinical Excellence, recognising my clinical formulation, phenomenological depth, reconsolidation awareness, pacing and resistance analysis.

I include this because deep therapeutic work should never be vague, forced or rushed. It requires attunement, timing, ethical precision and a clear understanding of how change happens.

Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy and Integrative Training

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (Distinction), Solution-Focused Hypno-Psychotherapy (Distinction), Clinical Mindfulness (Distinction), NLP/Ericksonian hypnosis, EMDR and related integrative approaches through the award-winning Central England College / UK College pathway.

The Professional Practitioner Programme is accredited by the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy — APHP — and the National Register of Psychotherapists and Counsellors — NRPC.

My training has included counselling techniques, Rogerian/person-centred and specialised counselling approaches, solution-focused therapy, analytical and regression-informed work, therapeutic metaphor, anxiety states therapy, stress management, IBS and psychosomatic disorders, substance misuse, EMDR, inner child healing, working with children, Gestalt approaches, pain control, ethical safeguards, phobia release, reframing and parts integration.

I do not see these as disconnected techniques. I see them as different ways of listening to the whole person: body, mind, nervous system, story, protective patterns, inner world and authentic self.

Assessed Clinical Practice

My assessed work has received very strong professional feedback, including recognition of safeguarding, rapport, trauma-informed teaching, empathetic listening, use of client language and client-centred delivery.

Feedback on my Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy works is described as excellent, with well-tailored techniques, careful information gathering, appropriate interventions, positive suggestions, future pacing, home practice, use of the client’s own words and clear evidence of client trust.

That matters to me because good therapy is not performance. It is not applying techniques to someone. It is careful, relational, responsive work with the person in front of me.

Mindfulness Teaching, Mindfulness Now, Mindfulness Teachers Association

I am a Certified Clinical Mindfulness Teacher (with Distinction) and a member of The Mindfulness Teachers Association and Mindfulness Now.

My certified mindfulness teacher training is approved by The British Psychological Society through the BPS CPD Quality Mark Scheme.

Mindfulness, in my work, is not used as a quick technique to make feelings disappear. It is part of helping you come back into relationship with yourself: your body, your breath, your inner world, your truth, and your capacity to be with what is here safely.

BLAST Technique®

I am a registered Advanced BLAST Technique® Practitioner, Registration No. ABL18218, and a BLAST Technique® Advanced Practitioner, Registration No. BL16423.

BLAST Technique® — Bi-Lateral Analysis and Stimulation Treatment — is accredited through ACCPH, the professional body for Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Clinical Hypnotherapists.

This sits alongside my wider trauma-informed and body-centred practice, offering another way of working carefully with distress, memory, emotional processing and nervous-system activation.

Insurance and Professional Responsibility

I hold professional indemnity insurance with Balens for all my therapeutic services.

Full professional and insurance details can be provided where appropriate.

I work within my scope of practice, with appropriate consent, confidentiality, safeguarding awareness, professional boundaries and ongoing commitment to continuing professional development.

My intention is always to offer a space that is warm and compassionate, but also professionally held.

A space where you can feel met, not managed.

A space where your symptoms are not reduced to a label.

A space where we can listen carefully to what your body, mind and heart have been carrying — and begin to understand what is needed for healing, growth and return.

Testimonials

“I just wanted to thank you for everything you have done for me. No one could help I honestly thought I was broken. I just thought here we go another therapist but you were so kind on the phone. I am crying as I write this because I had got to the point where I honestly didn’t think life was worth living & could see no way out. I think the menopause hits so hard & everything that like you said was already under the surface just made its ugly head known & my ways of coping weren’t working I don’t think I’d be with … if I hadn’t found you but especially what it was doing to my kids. You saved me. And I can never thank you enough. If you would like to use this as testimony so other people can get the help they need pls feel free.”

Menopause and panic/depression/anxiety

“Thank you so much for helping Ava she is like another child. And for the help you gave me and her dad and giving us an understanding we didn’t have. It’s brought us all closer. So much money spent and you just got it straight away. Ava is sending you something from her too. It’s baffling to me how you can just see what is going on so quickly when I’d been wracking my brain for years! You go above and beyond and I honestly feel you are an example of what a real therapist should be.You’re so refreshing as a therapist as I’ve had therapy when I was younger and found it so cold and clinical whereas you are warmth and real. I hope that this is a good enough testimonial that you can use I can’t sing your praises enough it is clear that you do this because you really care. I know Ava will never forget you as she grows older you made us all feel so comfortable. I will be in touch for a recording as I think with music she’d love it. Warmly,”

Therapy for daughter’s school and friendship anxiety

“I can’t believe how I lived my life. It’s like waking up in a whole new world and seein things so differently. It’s difficult with my mates cos I was the life n soul but I know that that was what I had to do to get through n now I feel like I can be myself. No apology. It’s been hard at home cos now I’m noticin things that i would have blamed myself for but I think it’s made …. think about her own therapy too. You said no man is an island I so get it. Youre a miracle worker. Deffo will want sessions just to check in cos I’m seeing how new me has new things but those new problems would have been dreams before. Listen to me!”

Depression and anxiety, boundary issues

“Please feel free to share: when I went for sessions it was to get myself out of the most horrendous overwhelm. Clare explained to me that I had options that would definitely help or we could go for root cause. I’d had enough of messing about in my life. So that was it. Deep, powerful, she’s like a mental health surgeon. Laser precision removal! At times I felt like cancelling cos it felt so surreal especially when I realised what’s really going on in my body (I’d done a stellar job of making sure I didn’t go there with drinking, drugs. She explained to me that a lot of the things we do are to distract from the root stuff. But they don’t come apart all at once else we would LOL Well I am a new woman! I am even going strong with a new man who I think may just be ‘the one’. Even that I have not rushed in like I normally would. It just would have gone so wrong before. My relationship with my family is better and I say no now without feeling that panic in my chest. My friends think I’ve changed so much but the ones that are real they’ve stayed and I’ve really worked out who they are. I wish this was taught in schools and colleges. Clare I hope that is helpful feel love for what you’ve done for me”.

Social anxiety, boundary/family issues, low confidence dating

“We are over the moon to have a beautiful message that our son can listen to in life, however old he is. The fact that this recording has embedded personal messages from us as his parents means that even if we can’t be there in life one day, he will always have this as something to treasure. I thought it was so special the way you then included positive affirmations of him in his own voice. What a powerful and treasured keepsake. It’s such a brilliant idea it’s more than we imagined! Thank you so much.”

Keepsake recording for child

“Whenever I start to feel nervous about my competition, and that feeling I'm going to mess it up and be sick from nerves, I listen to your recording and your voice and I remember the journal exercise we did where I wrote as if it had already happened and the ‘the beam is my friend. You made me feel amazing. You are the kindest person in the whole world! xxxxx”
