Therapy for Trauma
When it comes to trauma therapy, it is important to uncover and
treat the root cause of your suffering and dis-ease to heal it
at the source, rather than just focusing on the symptom(s).
My training as a trauma-informed phenomenological, interoceptive psychotherapist means that you can experience safe, powerful and long-lasting healing from trauma through the unity of the mind and body.
Why is a phenomenological,
interoceptive approach so important
when it comes to trauma?
As human beings, we gravitate towards pleasure and avoid pain at all costs. Before we can even recall, we have unconsciously buried our emotional pain because it is too distressing to re-experience.
These untended weeds leave us stranded, stuck in self-destructive cycles we can’t seem to escape. But far from being out of sight and out of mind, unconscious wounds can wreak havoc in our daily lives.
We will do anything to distract ourselves from feeling ‘the feeling’.
We have been conditioned to look ‘without’ - externally - for relief and answers,
yet a treasure trove of wisdom, healing and resourcefulness already lies within
us, and has done ever since we were born.
We have also been falsely led to believe that the therapeutic window into the mind provides the answer to all problems, yet both body and mind must work in tandem to bring these embedded traumas to light.
When we learn to safely access our inner world (our body), we also learn to become at home in our own skin - and this is when we truly take back control.
You are not broken and you are far more powerful than you may realise.
What is trauma therapy with the
Incorr® Method?
You may find that you fall into one of the following categories (or a mixture of the three):
You need support with a specific decision or issue
You are at a crossroads in your life, struggling with something big.
Perhaps you don’t know whether to leave your relationship, change careers to the one you’ve always dreamt about, or make another big shift. You feel conflicted, and the decision weighs you down more each day.
Or — maybe you are tired of the same issues recurring in your life. The same relationship patterns, friendship dramas, habits, worries, fears. The recurring problems are stopping you from living the life you want to be leading, and that a part of you knows you’re capable of.
Either way: there’s something happening in your life that is making you feel stuck and like you’re not sure where to turn.
I provide a combination of therapy, coaching and intuitive insight to help you to see all angles of the problem or decision and how they link to the deepest, most important parts of you.
This isn’t just an extended coaching or therapy session: this is a sacred, directed time for you to get everything out on the table, to be met and held in deep empathy and to get to the heart of what really matters to you.
‘Lifeboat’ intensives: for those struggling to cope
Sometimes, it all gets too much.
For whatever reason, or combination of reasons, there are times in life where you might feel that you can’t cope anymore. Like you’ve stalled, or perhaps completely broken down. And although this can feel very scary, if you’re feeling this right now, I’d like you to rememeber that you are not alone.
Whether you’ve been through a significant event or loss, or just feel at a crisis point, an emergency, ‘lifeboat’ intensive can offer you a safe place to land.
The 4-hour period of holding and safety can provide the space you need to reboot, recalibrate and to feel less afraid of the next steps. I meet you exactly where you are — and from there, I aim to help you to breathe again, to see a glimmer of light in the darkness. And hopefully, to get back to your life quicker. One step at a time.
You don’t feel like 1 hour (or 50 minutes) is enough
You may been going to therapy for a while — and even though it’s been helping you, you might have an inkling that a longer session would be really useful.
The traditional 50 minutes or 1 hour can sometimes feel a bit short, like you’re cut off when you get really into the heart of what matters. Or that the hour is often spent circling around day-to-day issues rather than going to deeper layers consistently.
Or — maybe you’re completely new to therapy, and you would like to have an in-depth, longer session to start your therapy journey, or as a one-off.
A Therapy Intensive can sometimes be the most efficient (and cost-effective) way for you to address what you’re strugging with properly. It could be the jumpstart you need to get back on track to the life you want to lead.
Testimonials
“Every time I feel that feeling I just put on my earphones and have a reset for 10 minutes. Hearing my wife and son’s voices just reminds me what’s at stake. I can’t thank my wife enough for doing this for me - I owe her and Clare my continued sobriety. “

“I was so scared going into school every day worrying what I would face next. I loved the way I was given a script of affirmations to read out loud for my own special recording, with my mum and dad’s voices on there too. I listen to it every night, even though now school is so different and I don’t have to deal with that girl anymore.”
