However, painful as it might be, realising this can ultimately be empowering. You can now begin to take back control. You can start to change what is passed down through generations.

The journey becomes more than you. You are passing on healing, not hurt. You are passing on promise, not pain.

I want you to know that:

It does not matter how old you are, or how old your children are, it is NEVER too late to start the process of healing.

Healing is a commitment to a journey. It is uncomfortable and it may be long. But the rewards of the process go far beyond you alone.

It is impossible to be a perfect parent, but by lessening your own heaviness and pain, you lessen the amount your children carry onwards too.
